Digital rallye through Aachen

Actually, our mascot, the otter called “Flotter”, should welcome you in the student council room today and show you where we work. But he disappeared this evening and we do not know where he could be. During the last days and especially yesterday after the meeting Flotter was very frustrated because you all didn’t come to visit him in person. He just doesn’t understand why you can’t come. He was so happy that you will get to know the city he loves so much.

Probably he ran away, because he is still quite young and sometimes a little hothead. That’s why he rarely stays in one place for a long time and loses a few things more often.

We are dependent on your help! Where is the student-council-Otter?

Before we start we can give you the following information:

  • We can give you a map of Aachen on which we have marked a few places that Flotter particularly likes. You can use this map for navigation!
  • Flotter has a very long name and when he introduces himself, he insists on giving all titles. Don’t let this put you off!
  • Flotter is young and unreasonable, some would call him impulsive. For example, he only eats sweets, likes to drink beer and is available for any mischief.
  • Flotter is a brisk otter and therefore prefers to be in the water. For us Aachen is a city without rivers, but Flotter knows how to reach the underground waters and prefers to swim through the city’s canals. So it will be difficult to find him on the street – you have to find out where he wants to go.
  • Each place is secured with a password. Once you have found out where to follow Flotter, there is also a password at each station which you have to decrypt. All passwords can consist of letters as well as numbers, are lower case and without umlauts (ü becomes ue, ß becomes ss and so on).
  • Last we saw Flotter in the student council room, this should be a good place to start! Hurry up, we are very worried! Who knows what Flotter will do again…

The team that finds Flotter first wins a great prize!
